Quick Mock Election

Everything you need to run a quick mock election can be found here. You can follow the steps through in this section of the website, downloading and printing templates as you need them. Alternatively if you would prefer a paper version you can download and print the whole Y Vote Teachers Pack.pdf. Many of the campaign materials that can be downloaded here are also accessible by pupils in the ‘Run a Campaign’ section of the website.

The activities included in this section are designed for use with one class over two 1hr lessons but remember that Y Vote Mock Elections are flexible and you can adapt what we have suggested to suit your own needs. It would be advantageous if pupils have a basic understanding of democracy and how the UK political system works prior to the election. If your pupils do not, consider using the pre-election lesson plans first.
