Activity: Mini Election!

Imagine you are a politician. Think about what issues matter to you. Draw up your own manifesto by writing down the top five things that you would like to change about the area that you live in.

Perhaps you think there is too much litter where you live or maybe you would like to see more activities for young people. Maybe you think there should be more police in your town. Everyone has different ideas on what needs to be done - what do you think?

After ten minutes each person will have the chance to tell the rest of the class what is on their manifesto and why people should vote for them. You can also come up with a name for your party.

Then everyone will receive a ballot paper and vote for the candidate that they think should be elected. The person with the most votes will be declared the winner!
