Pupils from the Downs Primary School explain what happened in their mock election...
Our school's mock election was run by Miss Larissa Coley, Miss Morgan Redman and Miss Jade Bridgeman and the wonderful Head teacher Mr D Yeld!!!!

This is what happened: we had six candidates that stood for these parties: Labour, Liberal Democrats, English Democrats, U.K.I.P., Conservative and last but not least the Green Party. Here is who stood for what party:

Green Party- Georgia Pritchard
Labour -Tayla Mitchell
U.K.I.P - Daniel Eze
Liberal Democrats - Ryan Baker
Conservative - Scott Fincham
English Democrats - Hanifa Begum

Each candidate made a speech to the whole school in assembly saying why the children should vote for them. We held the election on June 4th, exactly the same as the local and European elections. We had a polling station in the hall and there were officers there to instruct the children what to do.

Once everyone including the teachers voted, the votes were counted and the result was announced the next day in assembly.
